The annual Queensland Music Festival is upon us with a full program of fun musical activities to engage in across the state from 17 July – 2 August.

Since 1999 the festival has brought the best local, national and international acts from an array of music genres to Queenslanders, celebrating music excellence and encouraging music participation.

No matter what your background in music is, we’ve compiled a list of the Top 3 festival activities that everyone from music novices to connoisseurs will enjoy! Did we mention they’re all free?

Our Top Three (FREE) festival activity picks:

  1. Play that funky music at Keys To The City: Over 17 days (17 July – 2 August) pop up pianos will appear in 40 Brisbane locations making the city come alive with the sound of music. The pianos are open to all to play, all you need is a passion for music!

  2. Get your local music fix at Seed: End your working week by popping down to the Melbourne Street Green at QPAC any Friday night from 19 July – 21 August to listen to some of the best local acts before they hit the mainstream!

  3. Explore the evolution of the piano at Salon: If you’re a piano lover, this show is for you. Salon presents a fascinating history of the piano during a one-off show on Friday, 24 July.
