Following on from the release of their EP Ghosts earlier this year, Brisbane alt-rockers The Comfort are gifting fans with a new single, Roses, on 1 December – just in time for Christmas!
Roses is a heartfelt song about being in a relationship where both parties are externally focused – looking too much at the past and the future and not focusing enough on the present. With heartfelt lyrics, powerful instrumentation and melodic vocals, the track is a beautiful rock lullaby.
The Comfort are passionate about creating honest music that makes their listeners feel something, and Roses certainly achieves that. The single was recorded at Applewood Lane Studios with Joel Adams and was mixed and mastered by Sonny Truelove at STL Studios (The Amity Affliction, Young Lions, Prepared Like a Bride).
The track is a first taste of a new sound for the band, who were a five-piece, but now a slimmed-down line-up sees their sound taking on a cleaner, big rock sound – soaring vocals, anthemic hooks and choruses that bring the house down. Be sure to take a listen when Roses drops next week and keep an ear out for more of their new music in 2016!
Roses will be available next Tuesday, 1 December on iTunes, Bandcamp and Spotify. Follow The Comfort on Facebook to make sure you don’t miss the release!
