September is quickly becoming the month of festivals in Brisbane with this year’s happenings being tough to top. As we move into Spring it’s time to explore the city and all it has to offer. Here’s festivals we can’t wait to check out!

  1.  BIGSOUND | 5 – 8 September | Various Venues, Fortitude Valley, Brisbane
     

    BIGSOUND is your opportunity to discover the next big thing in Australian music. Featured artists include hometown heroes Aurelia, Camouflage Rose, and Cub Sport.   2. BRISBANE FESTIVAL | 9 – 30 September |Various locations, Brisbane

    BRISBANE FESTIVAL is back for another year to paint the city pink with a thrilling program full of music, dance, theatre, cabaret, and art. Some of their 2017 features include Limbo Unhinged, Orpheus, Megan Washinton & Queensland Symphony Orchestra, Charlie Lim and The Mothership and Thelma Plum.   3. BRISBANE PRIDE FESTIVAL | 1- 30 September | New Farm Park, Brisbane

    BRISBANE PRIDE FESTIVAL encourages you to join the celebration of all things LGBTIQA+ as it hosts dozens of events throughout the month. Marking its 27th year, Brisbane Pride aims to celebrate the history and diversity of the LGBTIAQ+ community. Their most prominent event, Fair Day, takes place on 23 September in New Farm Park and will feature 2 stages of entertainment full of local & national talent.   4. CALOUNDRA MUSIC FESTIVAL | 29 September – 2 October | Caloundra, Sunshine Coast

This year’s artists include Stonefield, Erica Falls, The Ruiins, Glenn Hughes, Groovement, and Daryle Braithwaite, just to name a few.   5. QUANDAMOOKA FESTIVAL: KUNJIEL| 23- 24 September | Dunwich, Stradbroke Island

    KUNJIEL marks the end of the Quandamooka Festival season. Members of the public are encouraged to join the free ceremony filled with music, dance, and culture as the Quandamooka people celebrate shared culture experience and entertainment. Live music will be performed by artists of the Aboriginal Australian’s discography, including Black Armband, Roger Knox & Band, spoken-word artists and surprise guests.
