Washing over listeners like a sonic waterfall with calming properties is Free Bird, the debut single by Brisbane’s newest soft-rock outfit Huntington.
With enchanting chord progressions and lullaby-like vocals, Free Bird explores emotional freedom and is, as the lyrics suggest, “pure ecstasy.”
“Free bird was inspired by the cat and mouse game of a broken love and the feeling of freedom once you’re not emotionally tied to that situation anymore,” said front man Kyle Morley.
Taking a leaf out of the musical books of artists like Foals, Holy Holy, The Flaming Lips and The Preatures, Huntington’s debut single is a mature and crisp offering that speaks volumes to the craft of these seasoned musicians.
Fans can see the band live-in-action at their first show supporting Down The Kings next Friday, 17 March at The Zoo.
“We love jamming out new sounds and are looking forward to all of the musical adventures ahead, especially our first show,” said Kristen Skinns.
“Our plan for the rest of the year is to write lots of groovy new tunes and share them across the country and then the world!”
