Love is an enigma that can be hard to describe. Thankfully, Gold Coast rocker Mick Danby has given us all a song to revel in our feelings too with his new single Float.

Originally written as a soft ballad, the track has evolved into an upbeat, pop-rock serenade that will have hearts fluttering, hips swaying and feet moving.

“Although I’d performed Float many times, it wasn’t quite where I wanted it to be. I’d always pictured it being fun and energetic and with the help of my Producer Kev L. Browne, that’s exactly where it’s ended up,” said Mick.

“It’s a love song and I hope it puts a smile on people’s faces and makes them think of that one person that makes them float.”

Float sets the pace for Mick’s debut album Portico, which is due out next month. A mixture of upbeat and slower tunes, the record ties together beautifully with bright sounds and a positive message.

Portico means ‘opportunity’ and ‘new beginnings’ and I think Float is the perfect introduction to that theme – it’s a good reflection of what I’ve tried to create on the album.”

If you love a good love song, get ready…Mick Danby’s Float is going to make you swoon!
