Ever had that sinking feeling of losing something in the sand while you’re at the beach? Brisbane ska-reggae rockers Fat Picnic have, and they’ve turned their experiences into a wicked new single, Sand Gremlins, with an accompanying tongue-in-cheek music video that will have you planning your next beach trip!
Taking a literal approach, front man Graham Moes says the band had a lot of fun planning the music video.
“We had a lot of fun coming up with crazy ideas for things people could lose at the beach and then turning them into achievable visual shots. The funnest part though was making the sand gremlins costumes and fully embodying the wholesome, uninhibited insanity that we enjoy expressing on stage and off,” he said.
Filmed in just one day at a Caloundra beach, the band had a great time filming the clip shot by shot.
“We brought props, our costumes, food and setup camp under a marquee, and did each shot individually. Most of it involved dancing on sand for hours which is a great workout for your calves and incredibly tiring.”
Sand Gremlins is a great summer tune to end the year on, and the accompanying music video will have you ditching the air con to soak up some sun, surf and sand! Just watch out for those sneaky sand gremlins though…
