Kicking self-doubt to the curb is no easy feat, but Brisbane rocker Ellie Jane is encouraging us all to do just that on her divine new single Four Walls.

With a sound reminiscent of 90s pop-rock ballads, Four Walls is an uplifting track about overcoming mental blocks.

Four Walls explores the idea of breaking free from the confines and doubts within your mind to realise your own self-worth. It’s about breaking down those figurative four walls,” said Ellie.

Inspired by some of her favourite 70s artists Marc Bolan (T.Rex), Paul McCartney and Wings, Four Walls is a first taste of Ellie’s debut album Dirty and Sweet, which is due for release 16 December.

“On Dirty and Sweet I wanted to create a raw, rock vibe reminiscent of the retro sounds of the 70s. My first EP reflected my softer style compositions as a soloist, whereas this new record has a full band sound with a rock n roll edge.”

Ellie says the songs on the album are inspired by life events – some happy, and others melancholy. There is also a special track at the end of the album dedicated to her dear friend Andrew who was always a huge supporter of her musical endeavours.

Produced by Byron Short at Brisbane’s Endurance Studios, the album features Ellie’s live band The Forces of Destiny who will be playing alongside her at her album launch at The Zoo on 16 December.

“It’s going to be an action-packed show! We’ve got all female fronted acts opening the night before The Forces of Destiny and I hit the stage for a rockin,’ high-energy set. They’ll also be some very special guests to make it a night to remember.”
