Ever dreamt of writing a book? Creating a painting? Or indulging in another creative pursuit? Then Sera’s new single Write A Story is the motivational tune you need to get started.
Inspired by lead singer Eloise’s own aspirations to write a novel, Write A Story is about having the courage to step out of your comfort zone.
“While writing the song I really drew on what I wanted to do and experience in life. One day I’d love to sit down and write a book or do a professional painting. I just don’t have the time to do either of those things right now,” she said.
Eloise says the original concept for the song came to her while she was at work discussing novel ideas with a colleague.
“After that discussion I started daydreaming about what it would be like to be able to write a book. On the way home, while riding my bike, I just kept repeating over and over ‘I want to write, want to write a story’ and as soon as I got home I put the rest of the song together,” she said.
While Sera’s debut single Doubt Around Me was an upbeat pop tune, Write A Story is a hard-hitting rock song. Both tunes however, are just a taste of what is to come, with more new songs in the works for the band.
“We’re heading back into the studio later this year and are currently planning some more shows, tours and releases.”
“We will be releasing a third single soon and can’t wait to show everyone what we pull from the studio!”
