Free education has the power to change the world, and QMusic’s Industry Connect program is doing just that, giving Queensland creatives the keys (for FREE) to build a sustainable career in the music industry.
Returning for it’s third year, Industry Connect will deliver workshops in Brisbane, Ipswich, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast and Cairns throughout April-July covering everything industry practitioners need to know about creating, managing, marketing and releasing music.
With some of the best minds in the biz facilitating the workshops, including personnel from APRA AMCOS, Sony Music Australia and Universal Music Australia as well as Queensland acts like The Kite String Tangle and Jaguar Jones sharing their tips, Industry Connect is a living, breathing, encyclopedia of first-hand knowledge from which artists of any skill level can gain invaluable insight.
“These workshops made me more confident in many aspects of my career within the music industry,” said Townsville artist Greta Stanley, an Industry Connect 2018 participant. “The workshops and panelists were really helpful and I highly recommend them to aspiring artists.”
“The feedback, the connection, the feeling of being part of the music community and the culture allowed me to gain confidence in my music and focus on my release,” said fellow 2018 participant, DVNA, whose debut single Girl On The Move has received more than 500K streams and features on numerous Spotify playlists.
If a free education from some of the industry’s best practitioners isn’t already a sweet deal, QMusic are adding icing to the cake, offering funding for five participants to attend BIGSOUND Festival from 3-6 September. The bursary includes delegate passes, flights to Brisbane and accommodation. Participants will also go in the running to win a personalised PR package from local distribution gurus GYROstream and the opportunity to attend a three-day songwriting retreat at Heliport Studios on the Sunshine Coast.
Since launching in 2017, Industry Connect has helped 1,190 artists and music industry practitioners navigate the contemporary music industry landscape, and in 2019 it’s time to sign up and make sure you’re one of them!
Places at the Industry Connect free workshops are limited, so BOOK NOW to ensure you get the chance to learn from the ultimate music industry #dreamteam.
Industry Connect workshops are happening throughout Brisbane, Ipswich, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast and Cairns from April – July 2019. See below for workshop details, and visit the QMusic website for a full list of facilitators.
