The countdown is on! Brisbane’s premier music event BIGSOUND is less than two weeks away and it’s time to start preparing. Over two nights (9-10 September), Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley will play host to 150 artists playing across 15 venues, showcasing the best up-and-coming acts from Australia and abroad.

The Brisbane music scene is well represented, with over 30 of the 150 BIGSOUND acts hailing from the sunshine state.  Here’s five Brisbane acts we recommend you see at BIGSOUND 2015:

BABAGANOUJ

With catchy pop-rock tunes that will get stuck in your head, Babaganouj are sure to entertain at this year’s BIGSOUND. Their latest single Can’t Stop is one you can easily listen to on repeat.

AYLA

Ayla’s 2014 debut single Wish I Was became Triple J’s most played song by any solo female artist. Her recently released second single Waiting delivers more of her signature indie-pop sound and will leave you hanging out to hear her upcoming EP.

JOY 

JOY’s ethereal voice and talents as a multi-instrumentalist and producer have made her one of the most exciting Aussie acts to watch in 2015. Fans attending BIGSOUND can expect to hear material from her newly released debut EP Ode which includes her latest single About Us.

WAAX

Winners of last year’s Triple J Unearthed BIGSOUND competition, WAAX return to BIGSOUND 2015 with their fiery punk-rock anthems. Prepare your voices to chant along – once you hear WAAX you’ll never go back.

TEMPURA NIGHTS

Tempura nights combine alt-rock with grunge in the most ear-appeasing way. After releasing their debut EP Whine last year the band are back with new track Mr Tone just in time for their BIGSOUND gig. The band will be playing some new material so get ready to rock.
